Toy Series #2

OK, so I've been nudged about the pics here for the Toy Series, but I couldn't figure out a way to get a clear pic of something so small....but the scanner can do it!

When I was a lad, I got a giant, detailed model of the Capitol Building. This thing was almost 4 feet long! I've lost that over time, but it did come with...a set of US Presidents! These are teeny; they're only 2 inches tall! I still have most of the set...minus some casualties (like Washington) This company was also going to make a White House model, but I don't think they ever did...

I post John Adams today...Perhaps, if people are interested, I'll post a few more Prezs!

When I was a lad,...
So the last one in the series is...JFK?

I tried to think what this projected series incongruously reminded me of . . . then I remembered that artist who drew pix of herself making love with all the presidents . . . Reminds me for contrast, that is. Ah, lost innocence . . .

re chickelit: Yes! This company also had figs of other 'important people' (Edison, Lafayette, Twain, Carnegie) done the same way as these. I wish I had those also!

Just admit that you burned the Capitol building in a cool recreation of the War of 1812. I used to blow things up with firecrackers.

No, I didn't blow up the Capitol! I did however, sink a radio controlled Bismarck filled with charcoal lighter fluid by tossing lit M-80's down the smokestack!

It not only sank, but sent a patch of sorghum on fire! Chaos ensued...

So cool that you blew it up in water with a real sinking.

A friend and I made a super 8 mm film of an indian attack on a miniature HO scale Fort Apache. The fort and buildings were constructed out of toothpicks and stick matches. After the stopmotion filmed slaughter of the townspeople (1/72 scale figures), we burned the fort and buildings as a finale.

I'm jealous, I would have loved these as a kid. All I had were those transformers that weren't transformers and bizarre things my relatives gave me.

I spent a lot of time outside eating weeds.
